John Cooke
Writer
After graduating from Cape Town University, John had
absolutely no idea what to do with himself. Luckily, he was
kidnapped by a local ad agency, Ogilvy and Mather Rightford,
where he worked on brands like VW, Audi, Shell, and a fish
paste made of pilchards. After a number of major brand
campaigns (and a few awards along the way), he escaped to
Scotland to join a succession of ad agencies who didn’t mind
his penchant for fish paste. He’s won over 50 international,
UK and Scottish awards for his creativity and writing (and one
for something that wasn’t). (Incidentally, John finds it very
strange writing in the third person.)
